Great South Run
Well Sports Fan's, I did it. I finished the Great South Run Today in 2 hours and 54minutes. I am pleased even though I was twenty minutes slower than I had hoped. I met a ton of great people along the way. I will let you know if I decide to do other races.

One Week to go
Life has been crazy here and I have been training hit or miss of late. I must admit. I was excited to receive my race number and mirochip for timings. My team is doing a wonderful job fundraising. We are excited about the race. I am sure that I will finish the race will it be as early as some of my other team members I don't know but I am going to try.

Today
This evening L phoned to see if I was up for a jog. I was initially going to sit on my ass this evening. I decided that a jog might be nice. We did a bout a 3.31 miles in less than an hour. We ran as we felt up to, it was nice. I am glad that I went.

Sept 4th
It was the first day back to school for the Children here in England. This Evening I went for a jog with my friend L and K as well as B.J. Although we only did a 2.25 mile event I actually was able to jog about a mile of it. My breathing is getting better and B.J's help to teach me to jog and not run really Helped. I am pleased. I will keep you informed of my progress as there are seven weeks till The Great South Run.

Aug 3rd
I was crazy today as I went with C to walk the course of last years Great South Run. We did about ten miles like the map showed it. The map was not as clear as one would have liked it. We walked it in 2hours and 44 minutes so when we are running it we will be moving a bit faster. Chuck will probably finsh it in a hour and a half that is my guess, as he jogs about five or more miles a day. I am not quite up to that but getting better.
I am not sure what this week will bring as I have b and b home now. I am sure we will get out and about.
Peace

Chichester Walk
On July 27th, I took a nine mile off road walk through the Chichester and south downs area. It was a beautifully, sunny day and I was accompanied by a friend K, Who made the day great. We walked through the Goodwood Estate which is owned by the 9th Duke of Richmond. We went past the auto race track, the golf course, the horse racing track, down the trundle to the village of Lavant and out to Oaklands park. We believe it took us four hours counting when we stopped for lunch. Here are some pics.

End of July
Just so you don't think I have taken vacation already. I am still walking and running on a regular basis. Just have not had a ton of time to blog. Keep watching for more info.
Today I did a brisk walk. 2.5 miles in 30 minutes. I thought that was pretty good. I attempted to run but my shins are killing me.
I will be participating in the Chichester 9 mile walk this weekend.

Well I survived the race for cancer with no pain. I think that is a great accomplishment. Yesterday I convinced my walking partners to take a road that I did not know where it lead. You all know me I am so into discoveries. So we walked down this seasonal road past Thatched roof cottages, farms with horses, peacocks, and then working our way to the mansions on the sea front. Past the Maritine college into Warsash. I thought it was a great adventure since a part of me is like all great adventures. I am not sure how my walking partners felt about it.
I have agreed to do a nine mile walk in Chichester with some friends on July 27th. I took today off due to our family schedule.
Peace to all

Cancer Run

Well I participated in the Race for Life in Southampton on July 13 with Lisa and K. It was a wonderful day, Ten Thousand people participated to raise funds for cancer research. In truth we all did the best we could. Lisa reached the finish line first followed by me and K. K. did a wonderful job as did Lisa. I can admit that I did okay but not as well as I had hoped. I ran about 1.5 miles probably a little less. I walked the rest. I raised about 100 pounds on my donation sheet and more thanks to all the online donations.

Running Fans
Greetings to all on this second of July. Well this week has started off slowly. Lisa and I went for a four mile walk/run on Monday. Unfortunately, we both experienced our own kind of pains. Mine is in the left shin. On Tuesday an friend of mine treated the shin and it feels good although I have not run. Lisa is still at an uncomfortable place so we did not go out tonight. I have to go out tomorrow as there is a week and a few days till the cancer walk run in Southampton. Thank you to all of you that have supported us in this effort. After the cancer Run, all training will be for the big run on October 26th.
Good will to all of you.

Not my best Effort
Although I show tons of promise and dedication. I am not sure what the real problem with my shin is but it is a pain in my shin. I ran a 1/2 mile before experiencing pain. Then I walked 2 and 1/2 in an Hour. I even had time to water my flowers before it was to dark.
I need to get this shin thing figured out so I can run further. Any suggestions are welcome.
Peace

22nd of June
What a blustery day. It was sunny enough, but the wind made you feel like you needed a sweater. Lisa and I ventured out. We planned to do 1 minute runs with two minute walks. Once we did a little warm up. I did 10 and 3/4ths of one before the left shin began to tinge a bit. Lisa could have gone on without me, but she is nice enough not to just blow past me. In all we covered about 3.46 miles I think if I mapped it correctly. I am improving and hope to keep up with Lisa. Most importantly I feel great minus the shin.
We will see what tomorrow brings.

Ray and I found ourselves in London today to take care of some affairs. It was an overcast day, but the rain held off till we arrived home. We walked from the offices we visited in Groverners Square to London Victory train station. We ate a lovely lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was wonderful as we don't do things on our own very much. In all I walked 2.5 miles in London.
Then, Br and I walked a .5 mile in town.
Cheers

Yesterday On June 17th, I visited a friend of me is an Osteopath. I had her work on my shin. She did advise me that I should not run today, but those of you that know me know that I never listen worth a dam. So Lisa and I went out for a run. We decided on one minute runs and one minute walks. I made eight before my left shin was painful. Our adventure covered our typical three miles.
I came home to Ice down and rub my shin. A few good stretches and I will be off to bed soon.

Monday Morning
Yesterday began like so many other Monday's. it began with getting children out the door for school. I cleaned the house, did the laundry and headed out for Yoga. I am really enjoying the yoga class. E the yoga instructor is great. She teaches us new positions and allows each of to work at our level and pace encouraging us to build up, but not push it. The ladies that attend are all ages and stages of fitness. It is fun.
In other news Lisa and I went out for a walk/run. We chose the 2 minute walks and 30 second runs we did about 12 runs which is my all time high usually by nine my left shin flares to pain. Last night that did not happen, which is great. Lisa is doing our statistical data. As of last night if we keep this pace we will finish the Great South Run 148 minutes or 2 hours 28 minutes. Hopefully, we will work forward from this pace but if not I know we will be okay to finish the run.
Thank God for shorts with draw strings cause that is the only way they are staying up.
Cheers Mates

Hey All!!
I hope all is well with each of you. Monday I did Yoga. I am really enjoying it. I then took a little walk with B.J before taking him to the movies. Tuesday I went to SouthSea with Br. We walked around Canoe Lake and the rose garden. Then along th esplanade for a bit before heading to a lovely meal. I ran about a little more that a fourth of a mile Than walked two plus miles. I am sure that walking the five miles in July since it is a cancer walk is ok but I would like to run some of it. My Shins are bugging me. I am a little disappointed as I was hoping to be further a long by noew.

Half Term break
The kids had a week off for half term. One went to camp and the other hung out with me. We were gone everyday during the week, in many cases we took walks and parks. Then I usually worked with L in the evening doing about three miles a night walking.
Yesterday on my own I jogged for a 1/4 mile for the first time with no pain and then walked two miles.
Today I have taken off for the first time in over a week.

Memorial Day/Bank holiday
Greetings viewers,
Hope your Monday is going well. I thought I would bring you up to date on a few items. Just so you don't think I have been lazy this weekend. On Saturday, I helped Ray move the Lounge (living room) around and then went for a walk with Bradley. Yesterday I went for a walk with Ray and Bradley. Then J and I went to Aqua aerobics. It was good but I like the other instructor better. Today I have already been out with Bradley in between the rain. I am hoping to get out for a little jog this evening.

Today was a busy day at Br's school trying to straight out issues. In the evening I dropped B.J at Sea Scouts for a lovely evening of sailing. I invited L along for a beautiful walk along the shore of the Hamble river. We journeyed about three miles walking a good pace along the rocky path. There was quite a bit of foot traffic as well as bike traffic. Hope you have a great day.

Week two we beefed up to run 1 minute walk two minutes the first time we did it together I did nine and a qtr runs. my left shin began killing. I also tried yoga. I have walked and did some running the other nights. Yesterday I took a four mile bike ride with the family yesterday. Then I took Bradley for a mile ride on his bike while I directed him. It was great.

Greetings all!
So I have talked to a group of friends about running the Great South run to raise fund for my son's school. The school would like to have sensory garden and new play equipment. All of which is needed and will be great for the students. I have several friends participating in C,L,D, K, and K's sister. As well as some of the kids participating the day before.
